- Role Summary
The role is responsible for the strategic and operational development of all production and quality-based operations across the Case Department at Kings Hill, Kent. It is central to the effective implementation of a continuous improvement culture across Rolex UK’s After Sales operation and has direct responsibility for four Team Leaders. The role leads and supports day-to-day operations to deliver proactive resourcing and workflow planning required to meet the company’s objectives. In collaboration with other managers within After Sales, the Case Department Manager is additionally responsible for identifying, developing and implementing quality-led process and system improvements to achieve exceptional internal and external customer satisfaction. Analysing and disseminating data to achieve improved departmental performance and reduce waste and quality backflow issues is an important element of the role. Whilst based at the Kings Hill office, the role provides support to the London operation from time to time, as required.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Technical
Develops, implements and oversees the introduction of all standard operating procedures, for all operational areas in the Case Department.
Ensures adherence to all processes and standards in accordance with Geneva World Service guidelines.
Identifies opportunities and develops strategies for the introduction of continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve quality of service, efficient and performance e.g. 5s, Kaizen, workplace maintenance systems etc.
Oversees the implementation of continuous improvement activities in relation to quality and productivity standards via established and new key performance indicators.
Develops, monitors and reviews strategic resourcing plans for the team to ensure an efficient workflow, performance targets are met and service lead times maintained.
Compiles, monitors and distributes monthly reports on performance related data, supporting Team Leader’s in the analysis of data to identify changes or improvements required including the need for refresher training.
Proactively advises the Technical Operations Manager of any pertinent operational and personnel matters, seeking advice and advising of developments where relevant.
Ensures the maintaining of general and housekeeping standards within the Case Department team.
Ensures adherence to all Health and Safety standards and by self and team.
People
Monitors and manages the performance of team members, including discipline, mentoring and coaching where required.
Manages all attendance-related matters, including holiday and sickness in line with the company’s policies and systems.
Creates and sustains a team-orientated environment, providing coaching and feedback on an on- going basis and championing creative thinking and a team spirit.
Identifies opportunities for training and continuing professional development for self and team, including refresher training.
Personal Profile Summary
A core requirement in this role is an adaptable nature combined with the ability to ensure strict conformity to rules, systems and protocols. The job holder should be capable of collecting information as well as imparting it to others. As such, there is a requirement for the job holder to be friendly as well as possess excellent communication skills, with particular competence in communicating facts of a technical/specialist nature.
Standard operating procedure are an important aspect of this role, therefore the job holder is required to be persistent, organised, structured and self-controlled. The management of a small team as well as the need to work collaboratively suggests the role would aligns to an individual who is consistent in his/her approach, analytical yet sensitive, precise, logical, systematic and compliant, with a non- aggressive nature. A positive attitude and social disposition, coupled with strong interpersonal and networking skills will provide a distinct advantage to the job holder in delivering the requirements of the role.
