Description
We have an exciting vacancy for a Watchmaker/Workshop Manager with a luxury watch company based in Hertfordshire.

Responsibilities:
  • Management of Watchmaking – This includes everything from stock control – polishing, parts control, servicing, etc.
  • Organisation of the daily workload in the workshop
  • Maintenance and improvement for spare part distribution to the repairs
  • Distributing repairs to the team
  • Quality control according to the different brands objectives
  • Steady improvement of repair quality
  • Responsible for the equipment selection and maintenance in the watchmaking department.
  • Responsible for the presentation and cleanliness of the department.
  • Tools/Parts supply & control for the brands we work on.
  • Occasional interaction with clients and presentation at events held by the company
  • Management of other staff that may be recruited for the department.
  • Pricing jobs working closely with our administration team.
  • Working on the CMS systems for effective workflow.
  • Day to day crossover and involvement with other tasks in the day-to-day running of the business when necessary – these may involve other jobs required by the company
  • Working closely with directors to establish KPI’s and targets for the department.
  • Working with our partnered accredited workshops and servicers when required.
  • Maintaining the highest standards possible of work and developing systems to achieve and sustain these.
  • Setting up training programs.
 
Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working on pre-owned would be an added benefit.
  • An understanding of tooling, parts and setting up equipment required within a watchmaking department.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong management skills
  • Working well as part of a team.
  • A self-starter able to work independently, managing multiple projects.
  • Possess a passion and appreciation for luxury goods, and a desire to be immersed in a world of Interior Design, Antiques, Fine Art, Watches, Jewellery and Fashion.
  • Good presentation for front of house and client welcoming.
  • Previous watchmaking & polishing experience would be an added benefit.
  • Experience running or working in a watchmaking department with luxury brands.
  • The ability to empower others and natural entrepreneurial skills to grow a business.
