Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Watchmaker to join a luxury watch company based in Herefordshire. As a Watchmaker, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and restoration of various prestigious types of watches, including mechanical, automatic, and quartz movements. The ideal candidate will have an education in horology, exceptional manual dexterity, and a keen eye for precision.

Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble, clean, lubricate, and reassemble watch movements using specialised tools and equipment.
  • Diagnose issues with watches and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
  • Identify damaged or worn-out watch components and replace them with genuine parts.
  • Test and regulate watch movements to ensure accurate timekeeping and proper functionality.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in watchmaking techniques.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and management to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Watchmaker with a qualification in watchmaking.
  • Proficiency in repairing and servicing various types of watches, including mechanical, automatic, and quartz movements.
  • Extensive knowledge of horology principles, watch components, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to use precision tools and equipment effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle complex repair challenges.
  • Certification from a recognised watchmaking school or equivalent training is preferred.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies in the field.
