- Role:
Managing the workshop function of the Service Centre to ensure the department facilitates the servicing and repair of all timepieces to the highest possible standards, whilst adhering to company KPI and guidelines. Organising workloads, training and development of the Service Centre Workshop team.
Ensuring that the service provided reflects the expectations of clients and external stakeholders alike. Striving to improve all aspects of the areas responsible through continued tracking and evaluation of internal and external processes, initiating changes where necessary. Ensures the workshop environment is operated to a high standard by managing and delegating where appropriate maintenance, cleaning and organisational tasks and duties to the team.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage productivity of the Service Centre Workshop.
Manage and organise the team’s activity to maintain an efficient flow of repairs in the locations under their control while ensuring that they understand their duties, delegated tasks and expected performance levels.
Review and report training/equipment/tooling/consumable improvements that can improve efficiency, capabilities, or flexibility of the team.
Track and monitor resources to accurately reflect and inform annual budget requirements.
Producing reports to support Service Centre requests.
Manage and co-ordinate the use of Subcontractor’s where necessary.
Liaise with end users, where necessary, to provide technical advice and resolve potential complaints.
Monitors the consumption and stock accuracy of spare parts, consumable, and tools stored within the Service Centre Workshop; ensuring regular stock checks are completed to guarantee accuracy.
Manages workshop tools and equipment; arranges annual internal calibration testing for workshop timing machines and arranges maintenance or calibration needs of workshop equipment or infrastructure.
Collaborates with Service Centre diagnosis and administrative departments to achieve an efficient flow of repairs.
Maintains a strong working knowledge of products and services.
Set, monitor, and report upon relevant departmental KPI’s.
Coaches’ team members, knowledge shares with colleagues, distributes policy and procedural information to advance the teams abilities to increase productivity and efficiency.
Responsible for the full employee life cycle of the Service Centre Workshop team.
Conduct departmental risk assessments and Ensure compliance with all health and safety and PPE requirements.
Support other departments in a technical capacity as and when required.
Criteria:
A WOSTEP accredited or similar diploma in watchmaking.
Can converse technical knowledge confidently to different audiences.
Be an excellent communicator with the ability to develop relationships at all levels.
Have the ability to perform duties whilst adhering to tight deadlines.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
Previous experience in managing a workshop department and strong people management skills.
Varied industry experience from within the watch industry would be advantageous for this role
