- Description
- The role is responsible for constantly driving the technical departments forward through benchmarking, identifying and delivering training needs, recruiting quality technical staff and ensuring processes and procedures are present, fit for purpose and being adhered to.
Responsibilities
Oversee and manage productivity of technical staff and departments.
Manages and organises the team’s activity to maintain an efficient flow of repairs in the locations under their control while ensuring that they understand their duties, delegated tasks and expected performance levels.
Ensure published lead times are maintained.
Continually review and improve quality controls.
Technical point of contact for Internal and External customers.
Constant review of technical processes and procedures; ensuring all relevant documentation is maintained and updated where appropriate.
Devise and manage the training calendar for all technical staff.
Provide technical feedback and support in relation to talent acquisition.
Build and maintain relationships with technical partners e.g. BHI, BSOW, BCU
Tracks repairs through the locations under their responsibility to achieve the most efficient delivery time. Advises administrative team of any delays or possible issue arising that may influence a promised lead time or repair scope.
Responsible for the monitoring and distribution of spare parts and consumable components stored within the Service Centre Workshop. Undertaking regular stock checks to ensure accuracy. Defines draw layouts advises replenishment lower level, updates procurement of obsolete or upgraded components. Informs procurement of errors in delivered stock.
Skills required
Have the ability to converse technical knowledge confidently to different audiences.
Be an excellent communicator with the ability to develop relationships at all levels.
Have the ability to perform duties whilst adhering to tight deadlines.
Excellent analytical and problem solving ability
A WOSTEP accredited or similar diploma in watchmaking.
Previous experience in managing departmental / technical processes and people management.
Varied industry experience from within the watch industry would be advantageous for this role
