Role Summary
This is a role where attention to detail and pride in the quality of work is essential. Working to strict standard operation procedures and within a small, structured team, the role’s primary responsibility is to undertake the refinishing of cases and bracelets in accordance with Rolex specifications and standards.
Full training in use of machinery and techniques is provided.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Undertakes the refinishing of stainless steel and precious metal watchcases and bracelets to their original finish via methods of polishing and satin finishing using polishing motors and specialist lapping machines.
Processes work according to detailed instructions provided via the Estimating department and the customer directly and in accordance with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Carries out detailed and thorough inspections of jobs prior to commencement and reports inconsistencies between item as received and information provided via Estimating department to the Team Leader.
Maintains specialised and individual equipment and work areas to the required standards.
Performs all tasks to the highest standards and in line with daily production targets and quality Key
Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Adheres to the required health and safety guidelines and procedures when operating machinery.
Personal Profile Summary
The post holder is required to operate in a technical, specialist or quality area of the organisation and will ideally be a perfectionist who has an innate need to get things right and prefers to deal with ‘things’ rather than ‘people’. Formulas, facts, logic and system are also important aspects of the role. The person fulfilling this role should have the ability to work in a steady, thorough and deliberate manner and have the persistence to see a job through to conclusion.
Ideally, the post holder will be conventional, co-operative, cautious, compliant, organised, predictable, methodical and routine-orientated. A questioning approach, concentration on detail and a non-assertive nature are also being called for within the role. The job is somewhat analytical and demands a high level of quality control.

Essential
Previous experience within a working environment where quality control is paramount
Minimum secondary level educationFamiliar with following strict working method and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
A good level of dexterity and hand-to-eye coordination
Good written and oral communication skills
Desirable
GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) Art or Craft / Design & Technology
Previous experience working as part of a small team
An interest in watches
Previous experience handling high grade product
