Description
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
 
As a Polisher within the manufacturing team, you will be responsible for completing polishing and finishing operations within our manufacturing department to produce a wide range of components that are used in the production of our watches. Precision, quality, and a high attention to detail are all key skills required for this role.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Operate equipment used to polish watch components to required company standards.
Bright polish and satin polish various watch components.
De-burr components.
Degrease and clean all components.
Package components to the company’s requirements.
Operate all machinery effectively and safely.
Maintain a clean working environment always.
Developing existing manufacturing processes for existing components
Responsible for maintaining production output & all associated production documentation
Involvement in continuous improvement activities / lean processes
Complete accurately all necessary material movement paperwork (i.e. Works
Orders, program changes)
First off inspection
Ability to perform fast set-ups / change overs
Complete other tasks relevant to the role as assigned by the Manufacturing Supervisor.
   
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
 
The successful candidates will be/have:
 
Polishing experience with prior background in the jewellery industry preferable.
Precision Engineering background working with tight tolerances and must have
the ability to maintain the highest quality standards at all times.
Must be self-sufficient – able to manage workflow and priorities effectively and efficiently
Read complex engineering drawings
Excellent attention to detail
Quality conscience
Inspect finished components and ensure that they are correct to drawing and within the required specification
Good awareness of HS&E (health, safety and environment) requirements
Ability to use Microsoft office- outlook, work and excel at a basic level
