Our client, a prestigious and reputable jewellery company have a rare and exciting opening within their organisation based in East Anglia.
They are currently recruiting for a Managing Director to join their successful and established jewellery retail business and are therefore looking for someone who has a wealth of experience of the luxury trade as a Managing Director or similar high profile position.
Candidates must be experienced in operational and financial management as well as store and staff management in a luxury retail environment. This would be an excellent opportunity for those willing to relocate.
The Role:
- Spending time both in the showroom and head office.
- Ability to sell high worth items, network effectively and maximise the potential of the showroom through various methods.
- Execution of a successful strategy maximising sales and income generation opportunities.
- New store openings.
- Growing and improving the retail business.
- Financial and operational performance of the business.
- Ensure staff are target driven and sales orientated; totally focused on customer service.
- Working with third parties and communicating event/networking ideas to promote the company and brands.
- Ensure excellence in all areas of activity to deliver the brand objectives.
- Ensure that P&L and KPI objectives are achieved including daily and monthly review of P&L variances and proactive expense control.
- Develop strong relationships with key suppliers and clients.
- Develop a strong multi-disciplinary team for the business.
- Increase brand awareness to the regional market.
- Assessment and generation of new revenue streams.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Maximising sales must be second nature to you. You will be commercially aware, have excellent customer service skills and be a fantastic sales person leading by example.
- Extensive experience in the luxury retail trade– at least 2 years current experience in a Senior Management/Director role.
- A fresh and creative approach whilst understanding the needs of the business, market and customers.
- An understanding of how to place most effort on products and services that generate significant income.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build comprehensive forecasting models to generate accurate forecasting on monthly basis.
Desirable:
- Experience of the fine jewellery industry.
- A trade qualification such as FGA, DGA, would be advantageous whilst not essential.
